Editorial Policy
Standards governing how we report, review, and correct news at MarathonDB
Last updated: February 26, 2026
Our Mission
MarathonDB provides fast, accurate, and practical coverage of Marathon news, systems, and gameplay. Our goal is to help everyday players understand updates, patches, and mechanics — without the noise. We are an independent community resource, not affiliated with Bungie.
Editorial Standards
- All news articles are reviewed by a human editor before publication.
- We prioritise accuracy, clarity, and direct relevance to players.
- Confirmed information is clearly distinguished from speculation, leaks, or rumour.
- We link to primary sources — developer posts, official channels, and patch notes — wherever available.
- We do not publish unverified claims as fact.
AI-Assisted Publishing
MarathonDB uses AI tools to assist with drafting and formatting articles. Every article is reviewed, edited, and approved by a human editor before publication. We add original context, analysis, and database links to ensure each article provides genuine value to readers.
AI output is treated as a first draft only. Final published articles reflect editorial judgement, fact-checking against primary sources, and site-specific knowledge that AI tools cannot provide on their own.
Corrections Policy
Accuracy matters. If a factual error is identified in a published article, we update the article and append a visible correction note with a timestamp indicating what was changed and when. We do not silently delete or rewrite content to hide mistakes.
Readers can report errors via our contact page. We review all correction requests and respond promptly.
Authorship
All articles are published under named authors with dedicated profile pages. Author pages include bios and article history. Our current staff writers:
