Marathon goes live worldwide tomorrow, March 5 at 10AM PT on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. There's no regional stagger — servers open for everyone at the same moment.

Marathon Launch FAQ
When do servers go live?
Servers go live tomorrow, March 5 at 10AM PT. Check the regional launch times table above for your local start time.
Can I pre-load Marathon?
Yes. Pre-loading is available now on all platforms. Make sure to check your storefront of choice to ensure you're ready to go.
Do I need to download the game again if I played the Server Slam?
Yes. The launch build is different from the Server Slam build. Redownload Marathon from your platform's store.
Which platforms can I play Marathon on?
You can play on Steam (PC), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S with full cross-play and cross-save. You will need an active online subscription on console to play.
What is different from the Server Slam?
Launch includes Marathon's full progression and a significant amount of new content:
- Full faction and contract progression
- All six factions, including Sekiguchi Genetics
- All six launch Runner shells, including Thief
- Three zones, including Outpost
- 28 weapons, plus mods, implants, cores, and more to craft your perfect builds
- Earnable cosmetics, achievements, and storytelling through the Codex
Launch also includes fixes and updates informed by the Server Slam, including adjustments for PvP frequency on Perimeter (Beginner).
Note on Outpost: Outpost will unlock the day after launch, giving the community time to gear up and unlock the zone at Runner Level 12.
When do Outpost, Cryo Archive, and Ranked mode go live?
- Outpost — Available the day after launch (March 6). Requires Runner Level 12.
- Ranked mode — Goes live in the second half of March.
- Cryo Archive — Goes live once you unlock the way into orbit, in the second half of March.
I played the Server Slam. When will I get my rewards and do they expire?
Server Slam cosmetic rewards and Arrival Caches will roll out during the first day of launch. It will take some time for them to reach everyone's in-game Mailboxes — if you don't see them upon logging in, hold tight.
You must log in before Season 1 concludes to receive them. If you do not log in during Season 1, you will not receive your rewards.
When will I get my Twitch Drops from watching during the Server Slam?
If you secured Twitch Drops during the Server Slam, your rewards will be granted to your Bungie.net profile and delivered in-game at launch on March 5. The Twitch Sponsored Kit may take up to 48 hours to arrive in your in-game Mailbox and must be redeemed by March 31.
Will there be new Twitch Drops at launch? How do I earn them?
Yes. To earn Twitch Drops:
- Link your Bungie.net account to your Twitch account
- Watch Marathon streams in the Twitch Directory with Drops enabled during the launch window
- Claim each reward from your Twitch Inventory, then log in to Marathon to receive them
Six rewards are available during the launch weekend. Tune in from March 5 at 10AM PT to March 9 at 10AM PT:
- Weapon Sticker: Smol K.i.t.t.y. — Subscribe or gift a sub to a Creator playing Marathon
- Twitch Sponsored Kit (standard in-game loot) — Watch for 1 hour
- Profile Emblem: Pink Graffiti Bingus — Watch for 1 hour
- Profile Background: Pink Graffiti Bingus — Watch for 2 hours
- Weapon Sticker: Pink Graffiti Bingus — Watch for 3 hours
- Weapon Skin (Style): White and Purple – Ballistic Sniper — Watch for 4 hours
A new set of Twitch Drops will also be available during the Tau Ceti Cup on March 14, pitting creator teams against each other. More details to come.
How do I claim my platform's weapon charms?
Every platform has an exclusive weapon charm at launch:
- Steam — The Crowbar charm is granted automatically upon logging in at launch.
- PlayStation — The For Freedom, Battle Guitar, and Onryō charms. Visit the PlayStation Store on March 5 to claim.
- Xbox — The Emerald Clutch and Emerald Catch charms are granted automatically upon logging in at launch.
Will there be login queues at launch? How do I check server status?
Launch days are busy. Brief queues or updates may occur. Bungie will communicate status via the BungieServerStatus Twitter and Bluesky accounts, as well as the official community Discord.
