Bungie has outlined a series of mid-season improvements to Marathon's Season 1 Rewards Pass, responding directly to community feedback. The changes include new Runner Shell Styles on both the free and premium tracks, an earnable path for Arachne Shell Styles via the Codex, and a small but retroactive adjustment to the LUX bundle. All additions are targeting mid-April, aligned with the midpoint of Season 1.

New Rewards Pass Content

Three new Runner Shell Styles are being added to the premium track — one each for Thief, Assassin, and Destroyer. The free track is also getting some love: Recon players will receive a new Shell Style at no cost, alongside a WSTR Shotgun Style and a Profile Emblem.

Arachne Shell Styles Now Earnable via the Codex

Previously, Arachne Shell Styles were only available through direct purchase. Starting in a mid-April update, Disciples of Arachne will be able to earn Arachne Shell Styles by progressing through the Codex — the game's in-universe challenge and progression system. This is a meaningful shift for players who prefer a grind-over-pay approach to cosmetics.

LUX Bundle Adjustment

The $9.99 LUX bundle (or regional equivalent) now grants 1,120 LUX, up from 1,100. Bungie has confirmed that anyone who purchased the bundle before this change has already been retroactively credited 20 LUX per bundle purchased — so if you bought multiple, check your balance.

A Note from Bungie

Alongside the patch notes, the team shared a message of appreciation for how the community has engaged since launch:

"From the start, our goal with Marathon has been a real partnership with this community — and the respectful, candid feedback you've shared has already made a difference. When you take the time to be thoughtful and constructive, it helps us move faster and make better calls, and we're committed to acting on that as quickly as we can."

— Bungie

They closed on a characteristically blunt note: "keep doing what Tau Ceti demands: be ruthless out there and never stop debating what a Rook's life is really worth."

All changes are targeted for mid-April 2026, midway through Season 1. Bungie noted these are just the Season 1 changes — further iteration on the Rewards Pass structure and future earned rewards is planned for Season 2 and beyond.
